Agrecalc Cloud launched for free trial

Agrecalc has launched new and improved Free Trial version of Agrecalc Cloud, with enhanced security measures.

Agrecalc, a leading independent farm carbon calculator, is excited to announce the launch of a free trial for our latest platform, Agrecalc Cloud. This state-of-the-art, cloud-based tool is designed to help farmers and agricultural professionals accurately measure, benchmark, and reduce their carbon footprints across the entire food supply chain.

Why Choose Agrecalc Cloud?

Agrecalc Cloud offers a comprehensive suite of features tailored to meet the diverse needs of the agricultural sector:

  • Comprehensive Carbon Footprint Reports: Generate detailed reports for all farm enterprises, identifying the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions, including carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. This holistic approach enables you to calculate emissions across the whole farm, per enterprise, and per kilogram of product.

  • Benchmarking and Scenario Analysis: Leverage the largest benchmarking database to compare your business performance with industry standards. Simulate various scenarios to understand the potential impact of changes and monitor progress over time.

  • Data Validation and Group Access: Benefit from data validation by experienced consultants to ensure accuracy. Group Access Portals provide a high-level overview for monitoring performance across the agri-food supply chain, facilitating collaborative efforts towards sustainability.

"Being able to drill down into figures that are coming from a carbon audit with Agrecalc, like using fertiliser inefficiently, has got us into researching different and more effective fertilisers. We’ve reduced nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions by 37%, and improved our biodiversity. Overall, we’re producing relatively carbon efficient beef – per kilo of output, our emissions are down from 51kg of CO2 to 27kg.”

Free Trial Details

The free trial provides an excellent opportunity to get a carbon result and understand your baseline emissions, setting the foundation for future sustainability initiatives.

What you get during the three-month period:

  • One farm profile with one report

  • Access to calculations aligned with IPCC (2019) and PAS2050:11 standards

  • Whole farm, enterprise, and product-level analysis

  • PDF reports (watermarked)

During the time you have free access to the platform, you can:

  • Orient yourself on the platform, and learn to move through the tabs and sections;
  • You’ll get invited to our free webinars where a consultant will take you through the platform in easy steps (coming soon);
  • Understand what kind of data you’ll need and gather the documentation that can provide that data;
  • Enter that data to create the first Report that gives you insight into your efficiency and carbon footprint;
  • Deep dive into your enterprises to see where appropriate mitigation measures can be applied.

“A whole farm approach was something we really wanted to do; from the sheep and suckler cattle right through to straw, fuel, fertiliser etc – it’s important to unpick the inputs and then have figures to go forward with and use as a benchmark further down the line. Although we love farming, it is a business – not a hobby – and it’s so important to keep an eye on the costs.”

How to go about it

To begin your free trial of Agrecalc Cloud, please visit our Free trial page. Once you click on the “Request Registration” button, you will be directed to our Support centre, where you’ll have to create an account, and fill in the form.

We have added this extra layer of security for two reasons:

  • Most farms are also principal dwellings for our users. When your address is behind a log in, it prevents possible nefarious actors on the internet from having access to your data by scraping the unprotected pages with bots.
  • By creating an account in our Support centre, you also immediately get access to other options available, like reporting bugs and issues. Our teams get notifications, so they can react as quickly as possible in fixing potential issues.

We are working on further automating this process and making it even more streamlined for our users. We will announce on our websites when these changes have been implemented.

Bringing new and novel fertilisers into Calculators: A call for further collaboration

The harmonisation of carbon calculator methodologies has taken significant steps forward with two key developments: the establishment of an Industry Fertiliser Steering Group and the progress towards an interoperable data format. These initiatives aim to enhance the precision, usability, and impact of farm carbon calculators, benefitting farmers and the agrifood sector as a whole.
